MCAS: Big Fans of Scott White’s Irresponsibly Aggressive Attacks

Last week we posted a bit about links between MCAS and former Montclair counselor-turned-ranty-blogger Scott White, in light of his efforts to get students to protest at graduation. We posted shots of a few of his articles that MCAS had shared to show that they – at the very least – view him as an ally and are connected with him, and that his brand of attacks are pretty much par the course for them.

But that was just a few posts, and after taking another look, there’s a lot more there. For instance, when White started posting his rants, AFT operative Maia Davis – unfortunately again identified only as a member of MCAS – used it as an opportunity to take more swings at the district with plans for “public hearings”:

Maia Davis of the Montclair Cares About Schools parents organization said the group will call for “public hearings to explore the concerns White is raising in this blog.”

And of course, the posts we shared were the tip of the iceberg. We’re sure there’s plenty of email coordination between them that we’re not seeing (and that White is maybe even a member of MCAS? We don’t really know who is/isn’t a member, or what that actually means anyway). But it’s impossible for MCAS to distance itself from White’s inappropriate, aggressive attacks. Why? Because they’ve “liked” just about everything he’s had to say previously. This sort of thing, like we said, is par for the course with MCAS/Maia Davis/Michelle Fine’s tactics, and it’s the sort of thing that isn’t helping our town or our schools – at all.

Below is a selection, and it’s probably by no means all of it:
